2022 was a great year for sport at UoA. Check out some of the highlights!
Commonwealth Games
Nine students represented New Zealand at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Our students came home with four bronze medals and a number of impressive performances.
Inter-Residential Championship
Congratulations to the winners and every kainoho | resident who showed up to represent their Accommodation community in friendly games!
Interfaculty Sports Championship
This year, for the first time since 2019 faculties competed against each other across 17 different sports tournaments, allowing University of Auckland Sport to deliver a full year of programmes without covid disruptions.
Marine Sports
Sailing has continued to be a popular activity for University of Auckland students all year round.
Tertiary Sports
After a year of national tertiary sport, the University of Auckland defended its title of National Tertiary Champions and was awarded the UTSNZ shield for the sixth year in a row.
The Great Waka Ama Race – Bay Edition
This year, the Great Waka Ama Race - Ōkahu Edition was held on Sunday, 2 October, with 50 students competing across 7 University teams.
